Bengaluru, 29 April
A labourer was stabbed to death in the city by his friend
following a heated argument between the two.
The deceased, Pawan, was a daily wage worker from a
village Jharkhand. The accused, Ganesh Dhar, also from the same village, was
taken into police custody.
The incident occurred at a shed near an
under-construction building within the limits of Kadugodi Police Station on 28
April.
According to police, both friends were employed at the
construction site of an apartment building. After consuming alcohol, they had
reportedly returned to the labour shed, where they watched a film on a mobile
phone.
Around 4pm, a verbal altercation broke out between the
two over a trivial matter. In a fit of rage Pawan slapped Ganesh. Ganesh in
retaliation stabbed him in the chest and ribcage with a knife before fleeing
from the scene.
Fellow workers rushed Pawan to a nearby private hospital.
He was declared dead on arrival.
The police registered a case based on a complaint filed
by the construction site’s supervisor.
Ganesh is being interrogated.
