Following a post on X that Col Sofiya Qureshi's house in Konnuru village in Gokak taluk of Belagavi district was damaged by RSS and Hindu activists, police have deployed personnel to guard the place. Belagavi Superintendent of Police Bhimashankar Guled said on Wednesday that a person by the name Anis Hudeen, who made the post from Canada, took it down after Belagavi cyber crime cell replied that it was false information and also informed the X platform.  "We will take stringent action on him if he is from India," Guled said and warned the public against sharing such posts. Col Sofiya’s husband, also a colonel serving in Janshi, hails from Konnuru. Her father-in-law Gous Bagewadi and family reside in the house in Konnuru village. Col Sofiya, who was part of the Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, briefed the media about the success of the procedure a few days after the conflict between India and Pakistan.
