IIM-B celebrates 1st NSR pre-doc PhD achievement
Muhammed Sadiq T becomes the first PhD graduate from IIM Bangalore’s NSR Pre-doc Fellowship, with thesis on social media misinformation.

BENGALURU, 7 JULY
The Indian Institute of Management
Bangalore (IIMB) has celebrated a significant milestone with Muhammed Sadiq T
becoming the first fellow to complete a PhD under the NS Ramaswamy Pre-doctoral
Fellowship (NSR Pre-doc). Sadiq, part of the inaugural 2018–19 cohort, defended
his doctoral thesis at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras,
focusing on misinformation on social media and its implications for public
health communication. Professor Anil B Suraj, Chairperson of the NSR Pre-doc
programme, noted that 51 fellows from the programme have secured admissions to
various PhD programmes globally. The NSR Pre-doc Fellowship, launched in 2018,
aims to enhance diversity in management research and prepare participants for
advanced studies at leading institutions, reinforcing IIMB’s commitment to
developing a robust research pipeline.
