Police have acted swiftly in response to actress Ramya's complaint about online threats and abuse directed at her by fans of actor Darshan. City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh confirmed that a case has been registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station following Ramya's allegations against 43 social media accounts posting obscene messages and threats of violence and stated that they will take action.

State Home Minister G Parameshwara assured that police will address the issue seriously. He stated, "Somewhere a full stop has to be put to such things... it should be taken seriously. Today it is Ramya; it may be someone else tomorrow."

Ramya lodged her complaint after facing trolling from Darshan's fans following her post advocating for justice in the Renukaswamy murder case, in which Darshan is a prime suspect. She remarked, "No difference between Renukaswamy's messages and DBoss fans' messages… it's because of trolls like this that women face harassment."

In support, Kannada superstar Shivanna condemned the abuse and stressed the importance of respecting women in all capacities.
