CHAMARAJNAGAR, 2 AUG 

Dr. Rajkumar’s younger sister, Nagamma, 94, died due to age-related ailments at her residence in Doddagajanur of Talavadi taluk, Tamil Nadu, bordering Chamarajanagar district, on Friday.

Nagamma, who was staying at her farmhouse, leaves behind 4 sons and 2 daughters. 

The last rites were reportedly performed on land near her farmhouse on Saturday. Dr. Rajkumar’s family members were reportedly among those who attended her funeral. Actor Shiva Rajkumar and late Puneeth Rajkumar, sons of late superstar Dr Rajkumar, used to visit Nagamma when they went to Chamarajanagar. She was very fond of Puneeth and was not reportedly told about his demise. 

“Kanda, I want to meet you,” she said in a video, wishing Puneeth on what would have been his 50th birthday. “I want to meet you. I want to see you.” 

Family members had reportedly told Nagamma that Puneeth is busy with shooting, as she had not been watching news channels or reading newspapers due to her age.

Puneeth, a Kannada superstar, died aged 46 due to a cardiac arrest while at a gym in the City in October 2021. Puneeth had reportedly grown closer to Nagamma after his mother died in 2017.
