Bengaluru, 5 August

The Cubbon Park Walkers Association strongly condemned Zomato’s dating event at Cubbon Park to be held on 9 Aug.

The group said that by selling tickets priced at Rs 199, on Book District app, Zomato was undermining the park’s sanctity as a nature reserve.

”As guardians of Cubbon Park for the past 15 years, we assert that this green space should remain an exclusive domain for nature lovers, free from commercial exploitation,” S Umesh, the Associations President said in a statement. “We urge the Horticulture Department to take immediate action against this event and file a police complaint.”

The body urged the event organisers to consult with the Association to ensure that any future activities would help preserve the park’s integrity.
