In anticipation of high travel demand during the Tiru Onam festival on 5 September, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced the operation of 90 additional special buses to Kerala from 2 to 4 September 2025. These services are in addition to the regular schedule and aim to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for festival-goers.
To encourage group travel and early booking, KSRTC is offering a 5 per cent discount on fares when four or more passengers book together on a single ticket. Additionally, a 10 per cent discount will be available on return journey tickets if onward and return tickets are booked simultaneously.
The special buses will operate from Mysuru Road Bus Station and Shanthinagar Bus Station (BMTC) in Bengaluru, covering major destinations in Kerala, including Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram. All premier-class services will depart exclusively from Shanthinagar.
Return services from various parts of Kerala to Bengaluru are scheduled for 7 September, following the conclusion of the festival.
Advance reservations can be made at KSRTC booking counters located in key cities across neighbouring states, including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra, and Goa.
