Cabinet approves slew of irrigation, health funds
The State Cabinet approved multi-crore projects for irrigation, hospital renovations, and urban housing, alongside new guidelines limiting ministerial invitees at public events.

The State Cabinet approved a series of massive projects and grants in the domains of irrigation and health. Announcing the decisions in a Thursday statement on X, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also said the government had laid down new guidelines for ministers at public events.
IRRIGATION
The Cabinet approved the construction of 100 MLD capacity secondary wastewater treatment plant and 25 MLD capacity tertiary wastewater treatment plant on the banks of Bairamangala Lake in Bengaluru City at the cost of Rs 391.82 crore, Siddaramaiah said.
The government also approved Rs 109 crore to lift water from the Tungabhadra river of Raichur district and provide water to about 10,000 acres of Achukattu (irrigation) areas.
Similarly, the Cabinet approved the development of Hebbakkavadi branch canal and Nidaghatta branch canal under the Visvesvaraya Jala network in Malavalli and Maddur taluks of Mandya district at a cost of Rs 293.47 crore.
The Cabinet also approved Naganur Lake development works for drinking water supply system to Shiggaon town in Haveri district at an estimated cost of Rs 105.19 crore.
HEALTH
The government vowed to undertake renovation work of taluk-level hospitals at Malur, Magadi, Kushalnagar, Koratagere, Jagalur, Savanur, Ramadurga and Savadatti as well as Davanagere District Hospital and Vensak Hospital in Mangaluru at a total estimated cost of Rs 542 crore.
The government also approved 100 beds each an estimated cost of Rs. 50 crores at Bellahalli, Yelahanka taluk, Bengaluru and at the Agriculture Department premises in Hebbal assembly constituency and Rs 20 crore for Victoria Hospital refurnishing.
HOUSING

MINISTER GUIDELINES
Ministers of the concerned departments will select only nine dignitaries for public government programmes, Siddaramaiah said. In the case of emergencies, this can go up to 13, he added.
