Drugs worth over Rs 9 Crore seized in Bengaluru, 2 foreigners among 7 held

Bengaluru, 29 Sept
Seven people, including two foreign nationals,
were arrested in the Bengaluru over the past 10 days in separate drug peddling
cases, with narcotics worth Rs 9.93 crore seized, police said on Monday.
The Central Crime Branch’s (CCB)
Anti-Narcotics Wing recovered 3.858kg of MDMA crystals, 41grams of Ecstasy
pills, 1.82kg of Hydro Ganja, 6kg of Ganja, a car, and a two-wheeler allegedly
used in the crimes. City Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh said MDMA
and Ecstasy alone are valued at Rs 7.80 crore.
In Mahadevapura, a software engineer
confessed to buying Hydro Ganja from Kerala for resale at higher rates. In
Siddapura, three peddlers admitted to selling Ganja for profit. A Dental
College student in Adugodi similarly confessed to trading Hydro Ganja.
On 24 September, officials seized 1.22kg of
narcotics sent via courier from abroad in KG Nagar. On 25 September, two
foreign nationals were arrested in Hebbagodi for selling MDMA crystals and
Ecstasy pills to customers.
All suspects reportedly traded the drugs to earn quick money and maintain a lavish lifestyle.
