7 held for posing as govt officials and robbing Bengaluru house
Seven people, including a former driver, were arrested for impersonating officials to rob a Bengaluru home, with Rs 1.27 crore and documents recovered.

BENGALURU, 11 OCT
As many as seven individuals have been arrested for allegedly posing as government officials and committing dacoity at a residence in Vinayaka Nagar in the City, according to police reports. The arrests resulted in the recovery of Rs 1.27 crore in cash, various documents, and two vehicles involved in the crime.
The incident occurred on the morning of 19 September when four unidentified men entered a house, intimidating the complainant's wife and mother present at the time. They searched the premises and made off with a suitcase containing cash and important documents.
Following the lodgment of a complaint at Yelahanka Police Station, an investigation led to the arrest of one suspect in Sanjay Nagar on 23 September. "Upon interrogation, he confessed and disclosed the involvement of his accomplices," stated a senior police officer.
Investigators found Rs 38.8 lakh in cash and documents at an associated godown and office.
A resident of Dommalur, previously employed as a driver by the complainant, had tipped off the gang about the hidden cash. All seven suspects have been remanded in police custody for ten days.
