Bengaluru, 29 Dec

Bengaluru police, in coordination with the Maharashtra Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), have conducted multiple operations leading to the seizure of narcotics and cash valued at over Rs 2.50 crore and the arrest of six individuals, officials said on Monday.

In a major joint operation between December 24 and 25, the Maharashtra ANTF initially detained Abdul Khader in Mumbai for possessing 1.5 kg of mephedrone. His interrogation led to the arrest of Prashanth Patil of Belagavi and Bengaluru-based Suresh Yadav and Malkhan Ramlal Bishnoi. Police seized 4.2 kg of mephedrone, 17 kg of precursor chemicals, and lab equipment from Yerappanahalli and N Gollahalli villages. Preliminary tests confirmed the substance as amphetamine, though not methamphetamine or MDMA.

Separately, the Central Crime Branch Narcotics Control Wing arrested a foreign national in Soladevanahalli, seizing 1.70 kg of MDMA crystals, 60 ecstasy pills, a laptop, mobile phone, and Rs 2 lakh in cash, with a total estimated value of Rs 2.25 crore. The accused, in India on a business visa, allegedly procured drugs from Delhi and Mumbai for distribution during New Year celebrations.

In another case, an interstate drug peddler was apprehended in Bandepalya. Police recovered 100 LSD strips, five grams of cocaine, and a mobile phone, valued at around Rs 25 lakh. The accused, working as a delivery executive, allegedly bought the drugs at low prices and sold them at a profit to known customers.

All six accused have been produced before the Devanahalli court, while investigations continue to trace sources and verify the purity and total value of the seized drugs.
