IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge on Thursday hit back at BJP criticism of the Sidlaghatta incident where Congress member Rajeev Gowda allegedly insulted the city’s Municipal Corporation head.


Kharge asked if the Congress should learn from the BJP, claiming that the Leader of the Opposition in the Upper House had called him a dog in Chittapur. “Should we learn culture from the BJP?Do you know what Muniratna and CT Ravi have said in the Council?” he asked, accusing the party of lacking decorum.


Kharge also alleged that the BJP politicised religious scriptures, saying it did not have “even a paisa worth of culture”. Congress leader Rajeev Gowda had threatened Municipal Commissioner Amruta Gowda over the removal of an illegal flex banner, triggering sharp reactions from the BJP and JD
