Bengaluru, 1 March

A massive fire gutted a godown at the City’s Anjanapura on Sunday morning, the third major fire in a week. The blaze broke out at a large mattress manufacturing warehouse and quickly engulfed the entire facility.

A Kerala-registered lorry parked in front of the warehouse caught fire, and five vehicles parked nearby were reportedly reduced to ash.

Thick black smoke engulfed the surrounding areas, making breathing difficult for residents nearby. Two apartments near the warehouse were evacuated as a precautionary measure, as fire department officials rushed to the spot to douse the flames. No casualties were reported.

Earlier, at least 20 shops were gutted on Wednesday in Chikpete’s Kumbarapete. Another blaze on Tuesday gutted 30 seized vehicles parked next to the Banaswadi police station.
