Bengaluru, 9 May

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 45th anniversary celebrations of The Art of Living in the City on 10 May, officials announced on Saturday. Founded in 1981 by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, The Art of Living has expanded into a global humanitarian and educational organisation operating in 182 countries.

The PM is scheduled to arrive at HAL Airport around 9am, followed by a felicitation programme organised by BJP functionaries. At approximately 11am, Modi will attend the organisation’s anniversary celebrations and Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s 70th birthday festivities.

A statement noted, "The PM will also inaugurate the newly constructed Dhyan Mandir at The Art of Living International Centre in Bengaluru, a dedicated meditation hall envisioned as a space for inner peace and holistic well-being."

He will also launch The Art of Living’s nationwide service initiatives, which include year-long projects focused on mental well-being, rural development, nature conservation, and social transformation.

Ahead of the visit, Bengaluru City Police have arranged extensive traffic controls to facilitate smooth movement. The traffic advisory states, "The movement of all types of vehicles will be temporarily prohibited on the HAL Airport exit road from Old Airport Road to the DGCA office on both sides."

Additionally, vehicular movement will be restricted on HAL Airport Gate No 30 road from Umbrella Junction to Gate No 30, and on NICE Road for a specified period, police said.
