Kannada film actor Santhosh Balaraj, 34, passed away on Tuesday morning at Apollo Hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout, Bengaluru. He breathed his last around 9.30am due to complications arising from liver and kidney issues that had led to severe jaundice, The Week reported.

 

 

Santhosh was initially admitted last month for jaundice and showed signs of improvement but was readmitted after his condition worsened. His health turned critical earlier this week, and he slipped into a coma. Despite intensive care, his organs failed to recover.

 

 

Son of the late Kannada film producer Anekal Balaraj, Santhosh made his debut with ‘Kempa (2009)’. He went on to earn acclaim for his gritty performances in ‘Ganapa’,’ Kariya 2’, ‘Kempa’, ‘Berkeley’, and ‘Satya’. His breakthrough came with Ganapa, which showcased his ability to portray intense, realistic characters.

 

 

Anekal, who had produced the hit ‘Kariya’ starring Darshan, also introduced his son in its sequel ‘Kariya 2’, solidifying Santhosh’s place in the industry.
