HYDERABAD, 22 AUG

Megastar Chiranjeevi is set to headline his 158th film, officially announced on Friday, coinciding with his 70th birthday — teaming up once again with director Bobby Kolli and production house KVN Productions for what promises to be a major action spectacle.

According to production details released on Chiranjeevi’s birthday, the film marks the second collaboration between the star and Bobby Kolli after their previous box-office hit Waltair Veerayya.

The announcement featured a striking concept poster: a bloody axe with the tagline "The blade that set the bloody benchmark," hinting that Chiranjeevi will portray a ruthless gangster in a high-voltage, bloody action entertainer.

KVN Productions, known for backing big-budget films like Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ and Yash’s ‘Toxic’,  is making its Telugu cinema debut with this project, which will be mounted on a huge scale. The makers have promised a grand cinematic experience, with music by Thaman and principal photography scheduled to start later this year.

While the official title is yet to be revealed, the film—tentatively referred to as ‘Mega 158’ or ‘ChiruBobby2’, is aiming for a Sankranthi 2027 release, following the completion of Chiranjeevi’s ongoing projects.

Chiranjeevi is currently wrapping up other major commitments, including Anil Ravipudi’s next (set for Sankranthi 2026) and has completed work on Vishwambara, slated for summer 2026.

Further cast and crew details, along with additional production updates, will be revealed as filming commences by the end of the year.
