Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to celebrate his 60th birthday with fans on 2 November and says he believes age has made him look better.
During an impromptu #AskSRK session on X on Thursday, the superstar, known for his humour and warmth, fielded questions on his birthday plans, upcoming films, philosophy on life and the careers of his children, Aryan and Suhana Khan.
"Hi, everyone. It’s been good times… award… series release… anniversary and all good things… I thought I would share some happy answers with you. So if free, please join in for a #ASKsrk love u let’s start," he wrote to kick off the session.
When a fan asked why he was “so handsome”, Shah Rukh replied with trademark wit: “I think age suits me… sexy at sixty!!! Superb at seventy… enticing at eighty and so forth.”
The actor, who recently celebrated his National Award win for 'Jawan' and the success of his son Aryan’s series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’, handled questions that ranged from funny to heartfelt.
Asked why he hadn’t given interviews recently, Shah Rukh joked, “Have nothing new to say… and old interviews have aged well so… ha ha.”
When a fan wrote, “Sometimes angels come with dimples. Is it true?”, the star replied, “Always… and with floppy hair!”
On which character he related to the most in Aryan’s directorial debut, he said, “Ghante ka Badshah obviously!!!”
A fan who arrived in Mumbai for his birthday event at Mannat received a warm welcome from the actor: “Welcome, see you on the 2nd.”
Expressing excitement about his films being re-released during his birthday week, he wrote, “I am so excited for all these films releasing in my birthday week. I am going to try and watch them all… u tell your friends to do the same, please. And Dil Se was really Dil Se.”
Speaking about his priorities, Shah Rukh said, “Spending time with my kids… remain tough and healthy so I can entertain… and be generally more patient and loving.”
When asked if he would greet fans at Mannat this year, he replied, “Of course, but may have to wear a hard hat!!!” — a nod to ongoing renovations at his residence.
About working with his children, he said, “On sets, I respect them like my colleagues and appreciate their inputs and hard work. Off sets, I just wish and pray their hard work pays off.”
On revisiting old roles, the actor quipped, “So many people feel I do the same stuff for years, so don’t know if I can do any differently, ha ha. But every role has a part of me in it, so they are all dear.”
He also offered words of comfort to a fan dealing with heartbreak, writing, “Don’t be. Cracks in the heart appear only so that the light can come in. Try dancing with Jaggu dada and my song comes… Chalak Chalak.”
Reflecting on fame, Shah Rukh said there was “no hard part” to being a celebrity, except staying true to the reason he became one. “Mine is to entertain… so have to work hard on that and nothing else matters,” he wrote.
He ended the session by tagging 'King' director Siddharth Anand, urging him to share updates with fans.
