Netflix briefly experienced technical issues as millions of viewers logged in to watch the series finale of its hit show 'Stranger Things' at midnight on  31 December, marking the New Year release.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, several users were unable to play the final episode, receiving an error message stating that Netflix was having trouble processing their request. The streaming service reportedly recovered within minutes.

This is not the first time Netflix has faced such issues during a major release. The platform had also crashed briefly on  26 November when Season Five, Volume One, premiered.

The fifth and final season of 'Stranger Things' was released in three parts  Volume One on  26 November, Volume Two on  25 December, and the series finale on  31 December.

The concluding episode, titled Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up, runs for two hours and eight minutes, making it the longest episode of the series
