Television actors Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij have announced their separation after nearly 14 years of marriage, sharing the news through a joint statement on social media.

In the note, the couple said the decision to part ways was mutual and taken with care, respect and consideration for their family.

They emphasised that there is “no villain in this story” and urged people not to jump to conclusions, stating that they have chosen peace, growth and kindness over drama as they move forward.

Jay and Mahhi said they will continue to support one another, remain friends and prioritise co-parenting their children with mutual respect. Stressing that there is no negativity attached to the decision, they requested understanding, love and kindness from the public.

The couple married in 2011 and later expanded their family by fostering two children, Rajveer and Khushi, in 2017. They welcomed their daughter Tara in 2019.

Mahhi Vij is widely known for her roles in popular television shows such as Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Balika Vadhu, while Jay Bhanushali has been a familiar face in television serials and reality shows.

The two also won Nach Baliye Season 5 in 2013 and were later seen separately in reality shows including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Khatron Ke Khiladi.
