The Union government has sanctioned a four-lane bypass road in Keshkal, located in Chhattisgarh's Kondagaon district, with an investment of Rs 307.96 crore to enhance road connectivity. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the project on the social media platform 'X' on Sunday.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Gadkari on behalf of Chhattisgarh's people, particularly those in the Bastar region, for the endorsement of the Keshkal bypass. He highlighted that the bypass will alleviate traffic congestion in the Keshkal Ghat section, facilitating safer and uninterrupted travel.
Sai noted that the Bastar region is experiencing rapid development under the double-engine government, stating that this approval signifies a commitment to improving connectivity and integrating tribal areas like Bastar into the mainstream economy.
According to Gadkari, the new bypass will extend 11.380km along National Highway-43 (new NH-30) in Kondagaon district, adhering to paved shoulder standards. The initiative aims to enhance travel conditions for drivers, reduce traffic pressure in urban locales, and offer relief from traffic jams and accidents, ultimately contributing to lower pollution levels in the area.
