Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a five-nation tour from 2 July to 9 July, marking his longest diplomatic visit in nearly a decade. His journey begins in Ghana, where he will advocate for creating a vaccine hub and address the Ghanaian parliament, making it the first Indian prime ministerial visit to the country in 30 years.
Next, Modi will travel to Trinidad and Tobago on the invitation of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the first such visit in 25 years, where he will address a Joint Session of Parliament. His third stop will be Argentina, where he will meet President Javier Milei to strengthen ties in defence, energy, and trade.
In Brazil, Modi will attend the 17th BRICS 2025 Summit, marking his fourth visit to the country. He is expected to address global terrorism concerns, including the recent Pahalgam attack, which may feature in the leaders’ joint declaration.
The tour will conclude in Namibia, the first visit by an Indian prime minister in 27 years, where Modi will meet President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and sign an agreement to implement India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), boosting digital payment ties between the two nations.
