The ABVP, a student organisation associated with RSS, on Sunday announced the launch of a Vande Mataram campaign on campuses across India.

The announcement was made at the conclusion of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's (ABVP) two-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Aluva here. The event was attended by national office-bearers, zonal organising secretaries and senior functionaries from across the country.

The CWC welcomed the passage of the National Honour Insult Prevention (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in Parliament, granting legal protection to the honour of 'Vande Mataram' song.

ABVP National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said the organisation would launch the "Vande Mataram @150 Years: Campus to Campus Vande Mataram Campaign" in educational institutions across the country.

"Parliament's decision to provide legal protection to the honour of Vande Mataram is a historic recognition of a symbol that inspired India's freedom struggle and continues to embody the nation's self-respect and cultural identity," Solanki said.

He said that through the campaign, "ABVP will take the message of patriotism, national integration and constitutional responsibility to every campus and every village".

“We are confident that these campaigns will strengthen public participation and further reinforce the resolve of transforming student power into national power," he said.

The organisation said it would also organise the "Ek Gaanv, Ek Tiranga" (One village, one tricolour) campaign, Tricolour rallies and mass singing of Vande Mataram as part of the Independence Day celebrations to promote patriotism, national unity and civic responsibility.

The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, organisational expansion, the 2026 membership drive, students' union elections, women students' initiatives, tribal student outreach and other organisational priorities.

The Working Committee finalised plans for various events such as the 72nd ABVP National Conference, SEIL@60, the Young Women's Conference, the "Screen Time to Activity Time" campaign, an All India Hostel Survey, international student outreach and programmes marking the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas, 350 years of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur and 50 years of the movement against the emergency.
