GURUGRAM, 15 SEPT
The woman sports bike rider hit by a car in Gurugram has released a new video on social media, levelling serious allegations against suspect Kalyan Bainsla, against whom an attempt to murder charge has now been added.
In the video, Shivani Chauhan, who identifies herself as Sia (insta handle rebelwheels_sia), asked why Bainsla did not stop at the scene after his car hit her motorcycle if he was distressed by the accident.
Sia said the two videos regarding the case constitute sufficient evidence.
Additionally, a video captured by the camera of another rider coming behind shows the car driver signalling Sia to stop. When she did not stop, the suspect steered the car toward her bike and hit her.
Bainsla admitted the accident was his fault but denied hitting her deliberately, saying he “lost control near a U-turn”.
"About 20 to 22 motorcyclists sped past me. I didn't realise a woman was riding one of the bikes; I had asked her and the man accompanying her to slow down. She was turning without checking mirrors," he said.
Bainsla, a gym owner, said he fled as he feared that the bikers would attack him.
BAINSLA ARRESTED
Kalyan Bainsla, 32, the car driver accused of hitting a woman biker, was arrested from Rajgarh in Rajasthan on Tuesday, police said, two days after his Ciaz allegedly rammed into her Aprilia RS 457.
Police said Bainsla passed indecent comments against the biker before he allegedly hit her.
The accused, a resident of Tikri Gurjar village in Haryana's Palwal district, hails from a farming family. He is married and has two children. — PTI
