Meta has appointed Arun Srinivas as India head, effective 1 July 2025, after Shivnath Thukral’s exit. Srinivas, currently leading Meta's ads business, will report to Sandhya Devanathan, who now oversees India and South East Asia.

The government on 16 June notified India’s 16th census, to be held in 2027 with caste data. The reference date is 1 March 2027, except snow-bound areas like Ladakh, which is 1 Oct 2026. The census will have two phases and digital data collection.

Man held for girlfriend's murder six months after her disappearance in Karnataka

Satish Hiremath, 28, was arrested on 15 Jun in Karnataka for murdering his girlfriend Madhushree Angadi, 26, on 16 Dec 2024 after she pressured him to marry her. He buried her body and scattered remains to hide evidence. Forensic probe continues.

On 15 June, at a 'No Kings' protest in Salt Lake City, Arturo Gamboa allegedly brandished a rifle and was shot by a peacekeeper. Bystander Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, 39, was fatally struck. Gamboa was arrested for murder.
