Cheteshwar Pujara, one of India’s finest Test batters, announced his
retirement from all forms of cricket on Sunday at the age of 37.
In a heartfelt social media post, Pujara reflected on his journey from a
small-town boy in Rajkot to representing India at the highest level. “Wearing
the Indian jersey, singing the anthem, and giving my best on the field was an
experience beyond words,” he wrote, expressing immense gratitude for the
opportunities the game gave him.
Pujara thanked the BCCI, Saurashtra Cricket Association, his mentors, coaches, teammates, support staff, and everyone who contributed to his career.
Acknowledging fans, he said their belief and energy kept him motivated throughout his journey across the globe. He credited his family, especially his wife Puja and daughter Aditi, for their sacrifices and support, saying he now looks forward to spending more time with them. “All good things must come to an end,” Pujara said.
