KALABURAGI, 28 JUNE

In an incident of moral policing, a young man in Kalaburagi has been attacked for giving a lift to a young woman of another community on his bike.

The incident occurred on 26 June when the victim, Bylappa, who works as a nurse in a private hospital, was on his way to drop a Muslim woman colleague on his bike. A group of 15 Muslim youths blocked the way and brutally attacked the young man, a Hindu for carrying the woman on his vehicle.

 A case was registered in the MB Nagar Police Station against the accused. They police arrested six of those involved in the attack. They were sent to jail.

The arrested youths were identified as Mohammed Salman, Mohammed Adil, Mohammed Rehan, Mohammed Uzair, Mohammed Faiz, and Mohammed Asif.
