MANGALURU, 29 JUNE
Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a highly decomposed body of a man, estimated to be aged between 35 and 40, in the basement of an under-construction commercial building near the KSRTC bus stand. The grim finding was made around 3pm on 28 June by a worker who had gone to address a water supply issue in the basement, which was partially flooded with approximately three feet of water. Urwa police, alongside forensic experts and crime scene specialists, attended the scene to conduct preliminary investigations. A murder case has been registered under Crime No. 57/2025, invoking Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Authorities are currently endeavouring to identify the deceased and determine the cause and circumstances surrounding his death, as stated by Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH.
