Mysuru, 7 July

A 36-year-old man, identified as Mahesh, an autorickshaw driver from Mysuru, was swept away in the Cauvery River near Sarva Dharma Ashram in Srirangapatna taluk on Sunday evening.

Mahesh had visited the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) area with friends and reportedly slipped into the river while attempting to take a selfie. Despite efforts by his friends, he could not be rescued.

Srirangapatna Police, along with expert swimmers from the fire and emergency services, launched a search operation on Monday. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
