Belagavi, 10 Aug

A 45-year old man was beaten to death by his friends for just Rs 500 in Belagavi on Monday, Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase said.

The victim, Hussian Tasewale from Pratap galli, was murdered by Mithun Mahadev and Manoj Ingale of the same locality.

The accused visited Tasewale’s house at around midnight on Sunday, demanding that he repaid the Rs 500 which Mahadev had loaned to the victim to get scrap iron. Tasewale was engaged in the scrap business. They then threatened Tasewale and his mother, Borase said.

After a heated argument, Mahadev and Ingale trashed Tasewale’s hands, kicked him and smashed his head to the wall.  After Tasewale fell unconscious, they fled the scene.

Tasewale’s mother, with the help of a neighbour, managed to take him to a government hospital, where he breathed his last on Monday morning. Borase said that Tasewale died because of severe injures to his internal organs.

The mother told press that her son was thrashed nearly for an hour. He was hit badly with hands, they pulled his hair and banged his head against the wall. They kicked when he fell down. She added that the accused had threatened her too, if her son didn't return the money.
