41 students from a hostel near Vidya Jyothi PU College at Basavannatha near Kolar were rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday following complaints of vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea.

They were given preliminary medication and later put on observation, said Dr Jagadish, District Surgeon, SNR Hospital, in Kolar.

According to sources, the hostel has 48 students and six faculty members residing. On Tuesday, they were served onion dosa along with chutney for dinner. However, by early morning on Wednesday, the students started complaining about stomach pain and began vomiting.
