Bidar, 15 Sept

A farmer died by suicide in Khashempur(p) village in Bidar after bank staff continuously harassed her over loan repayment.

Gangamama, 55, had taken a loan of about Rs. 3 lakh from KGB Bank and PKPS to cultivate soya in her approximately 2 acres of land. However, due to the incessant rainfall and waterlogging, the crops in the two-acre land were damaged, putting her family under immense financial stress, pushing her to the tragic decision.

Her son, Rajkumar, claimed in the complaint that the bank staff were harassing her. The Mannalli Police visited the scene, conducted an investigation and registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
