Mysuru, 17 Sept

Following the ED’s arrest of former MUDA commissioner Dinesh Kumar, Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar, and BJP MLA TS Srivatsa asked the ED to extend its net. They stated that there are others who are involved in the scam and should be probed.

“I demand that ED must investigate all the accused in the scam,” Yaduveer said. He said that his party had been demanding a detailed probe into MUDA’s “irregularities” from when the scandal surfaced.

Srivatsa added that the arrest of Kumar was insufficient. He demanded that all former MUDA commissioners.

“A lot of irregularities occurred regarding the allotment of sites during the 50:50 ratio scheme,” he charged.

The MUDA case involved alleged irregularities in land allotted to Parvathi, the wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The State government then constituted an internal probe to investigate the matter.

The Justice PN Desai Commission exonerated Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi, finding no illegality in the allotment of 14 plots by MUDA to Parvathi in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land at Kesare village in Mysuru, which the Authority had used to form a residential layout.

Similarly, the Supreme Court upheld a Karnataka High Court decision to quash ED proceedings against Parvathi and also quashed the ED summons issued to Urban Development Minister BS Suresh (Byrathi Suresh), who was not named as an accused, but was called for questioning by the agency.
