BELAGAVI, 20 SEPT 

State minister Satish Jarkiholi has purchased a new Agusta helicopter, manufactured in Italy, for approximately Rs 30 crore. This double-engine model replaces his previous single-engine helicopter, which he sold.

On Friday, he inspected the aircraft at Jakkur Aerodrome near Bengaluru and announced on his Facebook account that it will soon be ready to fly.

Jarkiholi has made history as the first politician from North Karnataka to own a personal helicopter. It's believed this acquisition aids his party organisation efforts and preparations for the 2028 elections.

The helicopter, capable of high-altitude take-off and landing, accommodates five passengers and two pilots and features advanced safety and communication systems. The minister stated it will be operational in another two months.
