The Indian Air Force (IAF) has set the stage for the much-anticipated Dasara Air Show 2025 with a spectacular rehearsal at the packed Bannimantap Torch Light Parade grounds on Thursday evening. The main event is set to be held on 27 Sept.
This year’s show promises to paint Mysuru’s skies with patriotic pride and aerial artistry. The highlight of the rehearsal was the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, which flew five Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv, executing synchronised manoeuvres that had the crowd cheering from rooftops and balconies.
For at least 30 minutes, the helicopters carved dramatic patterns across the sky, including heart-shaped smoke trails, near-collision reversals, vertical climbs, coordinated flips and high-speed passes — showcasing breathtaking precision flying and skill.
Organised by the district administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, this year’s display aimed to inspire youth to join the armed forces.
The Sarang team, formed in 2003, is regarded as the brand ambassador of the Indian Armed Forces (IAF). Operating the indigenous ALH Dhruv, developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the team has carried out over 1,200 displays across 386 venues in India and abroad.
The team has performed over 1,200 displays at more than 386 venues across India and internationally, operating the homegrown ALH Dhruv built by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
