The recently launched Cauvery Aarti programme, celebrated for its cultural and
spiritual significance, has garnered widespread appreciation across Karnataka,
India and globally.
Among its admirers are Jyothi and her husband Vikas, originally from Bengaluru and now residing in Phoenix, USA, who have contributed Rs 5 lakh to the initiative.
The couple, both engineers by profession, expressed their deep connection to the River Cauvery. “We grew up drinking the waters of the Kaveri and now, watching the historic Aarti at Brindavan Gardens near KRS from afar, we were moved beyond words,” they shared.
Highlighting the river’s vital role in sustaining
millions, especially farmers, they praised the Karnataka Government for
institutionalising this ritual of worship and reverence. “Mother Kaveri is
inseparable from the life of the people of Karnataka. This initiative sets a
remarkable example and deserves to continue as a cherished state tradition.”
They further emphasised that reverence for the river should extend beyond the Dasara festival and be observed throughout the year, noting, “God is nature, and nature itself is Kaveri. Worshipping her brings prosperity to all living beings.”
