The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged vote theft in State's Aland assembly constituency conducted raids on properties associated with former BJP MLA Subhash Guttedar and his sons on Friday, according to police sources.

This inquiry was prompted by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's press conference in New Delhi, where he claimed that there was a "systematic" effort to remove over 6,000 names, predominantly from Congress strongholds and minority communities, from the voters' list in Aland before the 2023 assembly elections.

In response to these allegations, the Karnataka government established an SIT led by senior IPS officer BK Singh. Reports indicate that three residences linked to former Aland MLA Subhash Guttedar were searched, focusing on his sons, former Zilla Panchayat Vice President Harshanand Guttedar and Santosh Guttedar.

Additionally, a Chartered Accountant's residence in Vivekananda Nagar, Kalaburagi city, was also subject to a raid.
