Mysuru, 5 Nov

Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar on Wednesday threatened to launch a legal battle against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s plan to build two cities in Mysuru.

Speaking at a press conference in Mysuru on Wednesday, Yaduceer blasted the State government’s plan to construct a flyover on Vinoba Road and JLB Road, saying that public opinion wasn’t taken before proposing the project and that Siddaramaiah’s plan would diminish the city’s heritage and green cover.

He said if the project wasn’t shelved, his party would take to the streets in protest and move the courts.

Officials have already conducted the soil test and are preparing a detailed project (DPR) for the construction of these flyovers, Yaduveer said.

The MP said that he would welcome the Metro rail project for Mysuru instead of Siddaramaiah’s expansive plans in the blueprint, provided the Metro was developed underground like in Mumbai.

On the recently unveiled statue of former chief minister D Deveraj Urs, Yaduveer said the structure doesn’t even look like the revered leader. Even Bharathu Urs, Deveraj’s daughter, was unhappy with the statue Yaduveer said, urging the administration to correct this.
