Leopard kills pilgrim at MM Hills in Karnataka

In yet
another incident of leopard attack, a man was killed at MM Hills in Hanur taluk
of Chamarajanagar district on Tuesday night. According to the police, the
deceased is Praveen Kumar, 37, of Cheeranahalli of Mandya district.
Praveen Kumar, along with several villagers, had gone on a pilgrimage from his village to Malemahadeshwara temple of MM Hills. The company was camped at Talebetetta on Tuesday night and had planned to continue the journey the next morning. It is said that a leopard had attacked Praveen at night and dragged his body to the woods.
The body was spotted few
meters from the road in the jungles of MM Hills, this morning.
The
devotees and pilgrims vented their ire on forest department officials for
arriving late at the sport and also requested the officials to capture the man-eating leopard.
