Karnataka to get new 9 railway projects
Construction and land acquisition costs for the Ginigera–Raichur and Tumakuru–Rayadurg rail lines will be shared equally by the Centre and the State.

The
Karnataka government has allocated Rs 600 crore for railway projects this year,
with several new lines proposed across the state.
New
routes include Ginigera–Raichur, Tumakuru–Rayadurg, Chikkamagaluru–Belur,
Kudchi–Bagalkot, Gadag–Wadi, Tumakuru–Davanagere, Belur–Hassan,
Shivamogga–Shikaripura–Ranibennur and Dharwad–Kittur–Belagavi.
The
construction and land acquisition costs for the Ginigera–Raichur and
Tumakuru–Rayadurg lines will be shared between the Centre and the State on a
50:50 basis. For the remaining seven routes, the State will bear the entire
land acquisition cost along with 50 per cent of the construction cost.
Bengaluru
suburban railway
Under the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project, land acquisition for Corridor-2 between Benniganahalli and Chikkabanavara has been completed, and construction is underway.
Land acquisition for Corridor-4 between Heelalige and Rajanukunte is in progress, with completion targeted by December 2030. The Budget has allocated Rs 500 crore for the Railway project.
Railway
capacity enhancement works are also progressing. The Baiyappanahalli–Hosur and
Yeshwanthpur–Channasandra line doubling project, costing Rs 812 crore, includes
a State contribution of Rs 406 crore. Rs 100km allocated for doubling the railway
