Woman accuses cop of rape in Mangaluru
The accused visited her residence, raped her and threatened her with dire consequences if she dared to raise her voice against him.

Mangaluru, 22 March
Another
woman has filed a complaint of rape against an inspector of the Moodbidri
Police Station, who was recently suspended in Beltangadi taluk in Mangaluru.
Three women had earlier accused him of sexual harassment.
In her
complaint, the survivor, who is a teacher, has alleged that the accused, Sandesh
BG, had subjected her to repeated sexual assault between 2018 and 2023, under
threat and coercion.
She stated
that the accused would visit her residence, and raped her and threaten her with dire consequences if she dared to raise her voice against him.
The woman
eventually registered her complaint at the Vennuru Police Station on 21 March.
The police
officer had been suspended from his services after three women filed separate
complaints against him before the State Chief Minister, Home Minister, Chief Secretary and the Karnataka State Commission for Women.
Police have registered a case against the accused and are conducting an investigation in the matter.
