10-year-old girl dies in Karnataka after freak accident on sari swing
According to police, the child attempted to play on a swing fashioned using a sari tied inside the house.

A
10-year-old girl died in a tragic accident after a makeshift swing made of a
sari tightened around her neck while she was playing at her residence in
Hebbale village of Chikkamagaluru taluk on Monday evening.
The
deceased, Lekhana, 10, was alone at home when the incident occurred, as her
parents had stepped out.
According
to police, the child attempted to play on a swing fashioned using a sari tied
inside the house. During the course of play, the sari accidentally got
entangled around her neck. Despite efforts to free herself, she was unable to
escape and died of suffocation on the spot.
Her
parents returned home to find her dead, leading to scenes of grief and
distress.
On being alerted, personnel from the Chikkamagaluru Rural Police Station rushed to the spot and carried out an inspection. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
