Lokayukta raids 10 govt officials across Karnataka in DA case

The raids targeted officials from multiple government departments in Bengaluru, Raichur, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Shivamogga and Kalaburagi.

The Karnataka Lokayukta on Wednesday conducted raids at multiple locations in connection with alleged possession of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, officials said.


Searches were conducted at premises in Bengaluru City, Bengaluru South, Raichur, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Shivamogga and Kalaburagi, they said.


According to Lokayukta, the officials against whom the raids were conducted are: Basangoud Patil, Executive Engineer at Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd in Raichur, Shankar M, Assistant Professor at Agriculture Engineering (Horticulture) University in Chitradurga, Duggappa BH, Range Forest Officer in Watershed Development Department in Chitradurga, Narendra Kumar, Executive Engineer at Public Works Department in Bengaluru.


Among others were Praveen B Sri Hari, Superintendent Engineer, KRIDL, Bengaluru Range Office, Pushpa DR, Deputy Director (Administration) at Agricultural Produce Market Committee in Bengaluru.


Madhusudhan N, Assistant Engineer at Minor Irrigation Department in Tumakuru, Thimme Gowda, PDO, RDPR, Kumbalagodu Panchayat, Bengaluru South, Kiran Angadi, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Research Division in Shivamogga and Amrut Rao, Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) at GESCOM in Kalaburagi were also raided.


Further investigation is underway.
