Raichur MLA’s supporters attempt suicide over no Cabinet
Tensions flared in Sindhanur as supporters protested Badarli's exclusion from the Karnataka Cabinet, with two attempting self-immolation.

Senior MLA Hampanagouda Badarli's fans protested in his home constituency of Sindhanur city, Raichur district, after he was not given a Cabinet berth on Monday. Two of his supporters, Shakulla and Amaregowda, tried to commit suicide by pouring petrol on themselves. Thankfully, other activists and leaders present at the scene immediately intervened and stopped them before they could set themselves on fire.
Shakulla and Amaregowda had alleged that the Congress “High Command had done injustice to our leader."
After the incident, the protesters shouted slogans against the government, demanding that Hampanagouda Badarli be given a ministerial berth immediately. The atmosphere was tense at the scene for some time. Police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
