State Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa announced the launch of the Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) project, aimed at providing education from LKG to Class 12 in Kannada and English.

The Minister laid the foundation stone for a new Rs 13.5 crore KPS building in Shivamogga, funded through CSR by Ajax Engineering Trust. He highlighted efforts to improve government schools under "Namma Shaale Namma Javabdhari" (Our School, Our Responsibility).

Eleven KPS schools are already operational, with 24 more sanctioned with Asian Development Bank aid. The new building will have 35 classrooms, toilets, and an Akshara Dasoha Bhavan, with completion targeted within two years. The project aims to develop 1,000 schools across the State.
