Four people were injured after a group of men on two-wheelers attacked them with machetes near Arehalli Gate in the City, police said on Monday. The incident happened at 9pm on Sunday at two locations within Subramanyapura police station limits. The assailants, with faces covered, were seen on three motorcycles, with four wearing helmets and two masks, attacking people on the roadside without any apparent provocation.

The police reported that the attackers first targeted Kiran and his friend standing by the roadside, then later moved to a fish shop, where they allegedly assaulted two others. Three of those injured have been discharged after treatment, while one remains under hospital care. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) SK Soumyalatha stated that special teams had been formed to trace and arrest the suspects.

She said, “Around 9pm, miscreants arrived on motorcycles and attacked Kiran N and his friend near Maramma Circle without any apparent motive. Subsequently, the same group moved near the Arehalli arch, close to a fish stall, and assaulted Raju and Ravi.” Four suspects have been identified, and three teams have been constituted to apprehend them.
