The Indian Air Force conducted a scintillating Dasara Air Show at the Bannimantap Grounds in Mysuru on Saturday, enthralling the crowd.
The renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), piloting Sarang HAL Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters and Hawk Mk-132 jets, put on a stunning display for at least 30 minutes.
The team, set up in 2003, painted Mysuru’s skies with aerial artistry in patriotic colours.
The highlight of the airshow was the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, which flew five Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv, executing synchronised manoeuvres that had the crowd cheering from rooftops and balconies.
The helicopters carved dramatic patterns across the sky, including heart-shaped smoke trails, near-collision reversals, vertical climbs, coordinated flips and high-speed passes — showcasing breathtaking precision flying and skill.
The IAF had held the air show rehearsal successfully on Thursday.
Meanwhile, over fifty couples from various districts of the State took part in the heritage Tonga ride organised by the Department of Archaeology, Museums, and Heritage. The tonga ride began from Rangacharlu Town Hall in Mysuru.
Couples wearing Mysore silk saris, Mysuru peta, as well as traditional attire from North Karnataka, and Kodagu were the cynosure of the event.
